The aim of this project was to create an innovative way of presenting long-form journalism through art-directed web design for BikeRadar.
As Web and UX Design Director, I oversaw this project. The solution was to build a web app that could be served as a web article. For content, the editorial team chose to tell the story of the development of Cannondale’s ground-breaking Synapse.
In conjunction with the editorial team, I commissioned the in-house broadcast team and carefully storyboarded all the shots. The app was built from scratch and I worked very closely with the development, operations and multi-media teams to ensure that every aspect was of a high quality.
Built as a proof of concept, the article was a huge success and won plaudits from cycling, design and media industries alike. Because it was built to be reusable the client already has plans to use this as an advertising vehicle and is in discussions with other cycling manufacturers.
